Product design concept · Party Mode revamp
Rex's Party Mode today is a setup form, a solo swipe, and a static summary. This concept keeps Rex's exact visual language and turns the whole thing into one live, social ritual: a real lobby, co-swiping where consensus builds in real time, and a match everyone actually feels. The phone below is interactive, tap through it.
"Create a Party" opens with "fill out the details below." Then each person swipes alone, and it ends on a liked/disliked recap. It works, but the group never feels together in the moment.
Groups don't want a recap, they want the permission to stop scrolling and press play. That moment lands hardest when you can see the room agreeing with you as it happens.
Keep Rex's black-and-white cinematic system and the swipe you already have. Add live presence, real-time consensus, and one confident group match with a reason and where to watch.
Lands Maya's "make me laugh" and Jordan's intensity, and it's the top-rated title none of you have started yet.
Keeps Content + Vibe, but adds live presence so the room feels alive before anyone swipes.
Same swipe you have, now shared: see who liked each title and watch consensus climb.
The recap becomes one confident pick, a plain reason, who agreed, and where to stream.
True black, heavy type, white pill CTAs, the REX shield and tab bar, all preserved.
Independent design concept created to illustrate an approach for the Rex Party Mode brief. Built by reverse-engineering Rex's public App Store screenshots to match its real design system. Movie titles and streaming badges are representative placeholder content and would use Rex's live catalog. Rex branding shown is an approximation for concept purposes.
